We will be joined by Simon Fraiz-Brown, Dorset Council Children’s Services – Service Manager – Young and Thriving – Commissioning – who will be talking to us around prevention of young people entering the Youth Justice System. This is a new project, in early development, but Simon is keen to talk to 0-25 VCS members as he feels they have a lot to offer. Lauren Finn – Kooth – will also be joining us to give an update and overview of their online mental wellbeing community, free, safe and anonymous support for young people.

Dorset AONB Nature, Arts and Wellbeing Community Fund (Round 3) – Grants generally up to £2,000 are available for projects that enable people to engage with nature, art and movement for wellbeing, tackle inequalities and enable people to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - applications can be made at any time - Nature, Art and Wellbeing Community Fund (third round) | Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (dorsetaonb.org.uk)
Little Lives - Children's Community Support Programme - Grants of up to £2,200 are available to smaller UK organisations working with disadvantaged children to provide activities and services so that they can enjoy a happy, healthy and fun childhood - applications looked at the last day of each month - Supporting Children in Our Community | Little Lives UK
Sport England Small Grants Programme – Capital and revenue grants of between £3,000 and £15,000 are available for local community sports projects to encourage more people to become active in sport and physical activities. Applicants do not have to be a sports organisation to apply - Sport England is more interested in the applicants' knowledge of and track record in the community that will benefit from the project - deadline Friday 30th June 2023 - Small Grants Programme | Sport England
The Charities Aid Foundation has set up a hub to provide resources, particularly for smaller charities to address the cost of living crisis. They have also set up a £3m fund called The Keystone Fund for charities to supporting their communities towards social equality. The Civic Power Community Action Fund - deadline 26th February 2023 – One-off grants of between £2,500 and £20,000 are available to support grassroots campaigning and community organising across the UK - Community Action Fund (civicpower.org.uk)

Youth Worker Training Days - Following on from the success of the training days which we ran in October and November last year, Dorset Youth Association and Dorset Council are pleased to announce that the dates and venues for the next round of youth worker training days will be

We will again be providing a market place with a range or organisations for you to browse in the breaks and at lunchtime.
We are in the process of booking the trainers, some will be the same as the last time and there will also be some different ones. Details of all of the training available on the day and how to book will be coming out shortly.
