The J & J Charitable Trust

The J & J Charitable Trust is a London-based family grant-making charity founded by Jahnene Green and Jonathan Green, who remain its sole trustees, in 1997. The Trust’s grant-making is discretionary, meaning it has the ability to make donations to a wide range of causes. However, previous awards have indicated a preference for supporting charities in England and Wales working in the following areas:

o Support for children and young people.
o Support for older people/the elderly.
o Support for Jewish causes, and
o Support for people with a disability.

In recent years, the Trust’s annual charitable expenditure has been below the threshold set by the Charity Commission for England and Wales to return annual accounts. The most recent year in which accounts were returned was for the year ended 5 April 2018. During the year, a small number of grants totalling £110,287 were made. Grant awarded ranged from under £4,000 to £78,500 and comprised of:

o Greenhouse Sports Youth Sports Charity': £78,500.
o Make-A-Wish Foundation UK: £14,000.
o Western Marble Arch Synagogue: £5,237.
o Tikva UK 'Write My Story' Annual Dinner: £4,000, and
o Others: £8,550.

A list of all awards made during the year 2016/17 and 2017/2018 can be found on page 8 of the Trust’s annual accounts for the year ended 5 April 2018.

Please note that the Trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
