The Materna Foundation


The Materna Foundation is a family-based grant-making charity with its main office in Bristol.

The Foundation makes a small number of grants to registered charities in England against the following charitable objectives:

1. The advancement of amateur sport for the benefit of young people under the age of 21.
2. To advance in life and help children and young people.
3. To promote and protect the physical and mental health of people with dementia, cancer, stroke and mental illness through the provision of financial assistance, support, education and practical advice.
4. To advance the education of the general public in all areas relating dementia, cancer, strokes and mental illness.
5. To advance the education of children and young people,
and
6. The relief of sickness and the preservation of health among people who care for the elderly.

The Foundation carries out its objects primarily through making grants to individuals and charitable organisations.

During the year ended 31 March 2022, the Foundation awarded a single grant of £5,000 (to the Rainbow Centre, Fareham, Hampshire). In the previous year, the Foundation made grants totalling £9,395.

Please note that the Foundation does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website and in the Foundation’s annual accounts.

The Foundation has stated in its annual report that it welcomes applications or requests for funding. The Trustees meet once a year to consider requests for grant support.
