The Sports Foundation for the Disabled
Newquay, Cornwall-based grant-making charity, the Sports Foundation for the Disabled provides small grants to not-for-profit organisations in South West England and Wales for activities that provide access to sporting opportunities for disabled individuals and groups.
The aims of the charity are to:
1. Cover the specific costs to enable individuals and groups to achieve a sporting challenge.
2. Support disability sports-specific training courses, and
3. Support the purchase of equipment.
Revenue grants of up to £5,000 are available. Please note that there are separate application forms for grants of up to £1,000 and grants of up to £5,000. Grants can pay for such things as (please note that this is not an exclusive list):
Costs relating to a sport project for people with physical disabilities or visual impairments.
Costs relating to sporting challenges including travel, equipment, sustenance and accommodation.
New equipment and kit specifically for sport activities, and
Training/coaching courses.

Funding is not available for:
Capital items (with the exception of small items of equipment).
Costs specifically covered by other funding.
Endowments or loan repayments.
Ongoing organisational costs.
Ongoing training costs.
Promotion of religious or political beliefs, or
Retrospective costs.

Applications may be made at any time. Projects should ideally start 2 months after an application has been submitted.
