Merry Christmas!

On behalf of Dorset Youth we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and thank you for all the hard work you have given this year in supporting the young people of Dorset.

We are excited for 2023 as we have some exciting plans going forward and we look forward to seeing what your clubs and groups do next year.

A new year, a new us!

Would you like an opportunity to use your extensive skills and experience gained through working or volunteering collaboratively in the VCS with other groups and with public sector partners, to be part of changes positively impacting our local communities?

We’re looking for eleven senior VCS leaders drawn from across the county of Dorset to inform the strategy and development of a Dorset wide VCS Assembly through membership of a new Governance Board.

More information about the VCS Assembly and the Governance Board is available on CAN’s and #HelpandKindness’s websites.

The closing date for applications is Friday 20th January 2023.

The Nothe Fort needs your support!

Nothe Fort is looking to create a range of new events targeted at young people. One of these events is a Preloved Clothing Market, and we would like some feedback to help us develop this event!

NCS Grant Giving

A exciting new funding opportunity for the youth work sector that is being spearheaded by the National Citizen Service (NCS) with support from the National Youth Agency and Street Games.

NCS will be awarding grants to local organisations delivering community-based experiences at a grassroots level, for the first time. Two different types of grant programmes are being developed: Open to All and Targeted Grants:

  • Open to All Grants These year-round grants are for regularly scheduled programmes that are embedded in young people’s local communities, with structure and support from NCS Trust, but locally tailored by you, the grantee. NCS will offer grants to deliver Open to All programmes and the grant amount will be based on the number of young people between the defined age range in those regions.
  • Targeted Grants These grants may be given for scaling your existing intervention, or trialing a new innovation, with targeted groups of young people. We will offer a variety of larger and smaller grants, creating opportunities for national or regional organisations, alongside small grassroots organisations.
