About Organisation

Our centre provides a service to anyone who has experienced rape or sexual assault.

We know how hard it can be to tell someone that you have been raped or sexually assaulted. The Shores are here to help 24/7. Rape and sexual assault can happen to anyone. Sexual assault/rape is any type of sexual act occurring without the consent of one of the people involved.

If you have been raped or sexually assaulted, it is important to speak to someone about the assault as soon as possible in order to get the support you need. Talk to someone that you trust and feel safe with, such as a parent, family member, friend, friends' parent or teacher.

All clients are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of gender identity, age, ethnicity, ability or sexuality.

We understand that accessing support for sexual abuse can be incredibly difficult for anyone, but for those from black and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ and people who have physical, learning or mental difficulties, there are often extra barriers that may make you feel unable to reach out for support.

Our staff work hard to ensure that our service is accessible to everyone because equality is important to us.

Our full range of services include:
Crisis Worker Support
Forensic Medical Examination (if appropriate)
Emergency Contraception
Pregnancy Testing
Sexual Health Screening for Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV PEP Risk Assessment
Referral to Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA), Counselling or other supporting agencies

For more information, please visit our website or call us on 0800 970 9954 - This number is contactable 24/7 365 days a year. All calls are confidential.
