About Project

We are Christchurch District Scouts, Dorset, England. Please don’t confuse us with New Zealand, Christ Church in Wales, Norfolk, Epsom or anywhere there is a church with a name like this!

We provide scouting for young people who live in the BH23 postcode area only. If you live outside BH23, you can search here for your local groups.

We have sessions for 4-25 year olds and our provision is as follows: Squirrels for 4-6 year olds, Beavers for 6-8 year olds, Cubs for 8-10.5 year olds, Scouts for 10.5-14 year olds, Explorers for 14-18 year olds and Network for 18-25 year olds. There are Eight groups around the district which run exciting programmes for some or all of the sections, one of them being a Sea Scout group, one other being an Air Scout group. Each group has their own designated centre and are managed by their Group Scout Leader and their committee. Click here to see where each group is based.

We currently have no immediate places free in any of our Beaver Scout sections (6-8 years old) and Cub Scout sections (8-10.5 year old). There are a few spaces in some of our Scout sections (10.5-14 years old). There are places in our Explorer Scout sections (14-18 years old) and our Network Scout section (18-25 years old). We currently have two Squirrel sections (4-6 year olds) which already have a waiting list and we have plans for two more, in late 2022-early 2023. Others may follow but the plans are not in place yet. This does mean places will be limited. For more information on the waiting list and how to join a group please click here.
