About Project

Kids & Co is a friendly group for children aged 0 - 4 years who are accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult. We cannot accommodate older children.

The toys, equipment and activities used are all suitable for 0 - 4 year-olds and have been selected to promote physical and social development. Each session includes a time of singing, percussion and music. Such group activity plays an important part in the children’s development and socialisation. We encourage you and your child/children to participate.

Most of the volunteer helpers (in turquoise polo shirts) are members of Dorchester Baptist Church. If there is ever a problem we are here to help. Should you wish, we are very willing to talk to you about what we believe as Christians.

How it All Works:

Registration

When you first come to Kids & Co we will ask you for your name and a contact telephone number and e-mail address so that we can be certain to be able to contact you. We register everyone each week. We need this information in case of fire and to enable us to plan our staffing. The registers will be kept securely and the information will not be accessible or given to anyone other than the Kids & Co team.

You will also be asked to sign out if you need to leave before the session has finished.

Your Responsibility

We remind parents/carers that our volunteers are here to help run the group. Children remain your responsibility and we ask that you ensure that they are supervised at all times.

Staying Safe

Please let us know if you see anything that causes you safety concerns.

The Church carries out regular health and safety checks throughout the building to help to ensure your safety. In the event of injury, loss or damage to person or property the church accepts no responsibility unless it is due to negligence directly attributed to the condition of the church building or equipment, or to the actions of its staff or volunteers.

Older Siblings?

The group is run for babies and toddlers below school age; we are unable to cater for any older children and ask that you do not bring them with you. The church, however, runs lots of activities where older children are very welcome. Please ask a volunteer if you want to know more.

Staying Healthy

Please make us aware of any special needs and allergies you feel would be helpful for us to know. If you or your child has a contagious illness or has been unwell over the previous 24 hours, please give Kids & Co a miss. I am sure that you are aware that pregnant mums, children and babies are often more at risk and vulnerable to illness.
