What
Many parents need help, friendship, advice or support during those early years when children are young. There is no rulebook for raising a family and sometimes it can seem overwhelming, particularly if your family is going through difficult times. We can give you the support you need when you need it and try to help make your day-to-day family life a bit brighter!
If you have at least one child under five and live in West Dorset, Weymouth or Portland then we can help. We support parents just like you through our volunteers. They are people who are parents themselves or who have parenting experience – so they know just what you are going through. They will visit you in your own home, usually once a week. You decide what you will do together.
Maybe you need someone to talk to who won’t judge you; a shoulder to cry on or perhaps someone to play with or read to your children; maybe a bit of support to make or keep appointments or someone to introduce you to local activities. You decide.
If you are a parent who would like some help, visit our how to get help page.
If you are a health visitor, GP or health professional and would like to make a referral, please visit our referrals page to find out more.
Please note the location shown is our office and not where we provide support. We are an outreach service and provide support in the family home. (We cover DT1 to DT9 areas).
