Suicide First Aid (Lite)
A half-day training course to learn skills to have a conversation with someone who may be thinking about suicide. Learn how to signpost them to appropriate help, using a first aid approach.
With increasing cases of death by suicide, it is important that we learn how to spot the signs that someone may be considering dying by suicide. Develop the confidence to speak openly about suicide and when to signpost people towards help, which could save their life. Most people who are considering suicide; don’t want to end their lives – they just want the pain to stop. Through raised awareness, good communication and effective support, lives can be saved.
This course aims to equip participants with the skills to spot the early signs that someone may be struggling and build their confidence to apply a ‘first aid approach’ to avoid a crisis. No previous experience or training is required to attend.
