Suicide First Aid Understanding Suicide Intervention (SFASUI One Day Course)
This full day accredited course teaches individuals the practice of skills and knowledge needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and efficiently intervene safely using a first-aid approach. No previous experience or training is required; however, this is a good follow-on course from the Mental Health First Aid England qualification.
Develop the confidence to speak openly about suicide, when to signpost people towards help, and how to create a suicide safety-plan, which could save someone’s life. Most people who are considering suicide don’t want to end their lives – they just want the pain to stop.
Gain a deeper understanding of how to have an effective and supportive conversation with someone who needs to stay safe from suicide and learn helpful and destigmatising language that can support this. Through raised awareness, good communication and effective support, lives can be saved.
SFASUI is an accredited course by City and Guilds of London. Delivered by a qualified Suicide First Aid trainer in a safe and supportive environment, learn the theory and practice of suicide intervention skills delivered over one day, either virtually or face to face, to apply in and out of the workplace.
