Content Creator Volunteer

Dorset Youth is looking for a creative, responsible and organised volunteer to help us explain our work, promote opportunities and share the difference youth organisations and young people are making across Dorset.

Content may include website news, social media posts, simple graphics, photographs, short videos, newsletters and campaign materials. The volunteer will work to approved briefs and will not be expected to have every creative skill from day one.

Dorset Youth works with youth clubs, voluntary and community organisations and partners across Dorset. We also deliver youth work and targeted support, and help young people have a voice, develop skills and access opportunities.

About the role

• Draft clear social media posts, website stories, newsletters and short campaign content.
• Create simple graphics and visual content using Dorset Youth templates and approved brand assets.
• Take or edit photographs and short video at approved activities where this has been planned and supervised.
• Add captions, subtitles and alternative text so content is accessible to more people.
• Support a simple content calendar and keep approved images, video and design files organised.
• Help promote youth clubs, volunteering, training, youth voice, the Knowledge Hub and wider 0-25 voluntary and community sector opportunities.

We are looking for someone who

• Has an interest in writing, design, photography, video, social media or communications.
• Can communicate clearly and pay attention to detail.
• Understands that consent, privacy, safeguarding and accuracy come before speed or creativity.
• Can follow a brief, use approved material and accept constructive feedback.
• Is reliable, respectful and committed to inclusive content.
