Big Bus Pull FAQs

  • How do I enter a team?

    You just need 8 people who are willing to raise £250 each. Once you have your team members you can register and pay the registration fee. We will send you a pack with everything else you need

  • Is there a charge to enter a team?

    There is a charge of £25 per team to enter a team. This needs to be paid when you register.

  • How will this benefit my business?

    Each business that enters a team will get a mention on our social media and any advertising associated with the event. We will ask your selected charity to promote you in their advertising and any donations or matched funding made by your business are deductable from profits before tax. You can help your team to fund raise by matching anything they raise. You will be raising up to £2000 that will go directly to your chosen charity with no administration fees for them to pay.

  • How will this benefit my vcs organisation?

    This an opportunity to join up with local businesses and individuals that are keen to support charities and raise your profile in your local area. If you enter your own team you will raise up to £2000 for your charity without all the usual administration fees charged by organisers. We are only asking for £25 to register and take part.

  • What does the Bus Pull involve?

    As a team of 8, you just need to see how far you can pull the #WillDoes bus in 25 seconds.

  • Who can enter a team?

    Anyone can enter a team as long as all team members are over 16

  • Is there a sponsorship target?

    We ask that you do your best to raise £250 per person for your chosen charity

  • Which charities can we raise money for?

    You can choose any Dorset based charity that supports children and young people. There is a list [here]. If your chosen charity is not on our list just let us know and we can sign them up

  • Is there an age limit?

    All team members must be 16 years or over. We have no maximum age.

  • Do I need to train for the event?

    No…all we ask is that all team members are fit and healthy: without any known heart problems, back issues or currently pregnant. You enter at your own risk. If you have any specific concerns, just let us know.

  • Where is the event taking place?

    Dorchester Rugby Club, Coburg Rd, Dorchester DT1 2HX

  • Will there be anything else to do during the day?

    Yes…it will be a family friendly day (10am-2pm…ish). We are still finalising the details, but there will be food and drinks available a spectator area for the bus pull so you can cheer teams on and we have special guest Shane Flowers joining us for the day

  • Is there parking?

    There is plenty of parking available.

  • Do you have to pay to come and watch?

    Yes its free for spectators but we will have collections at the gate and around the site so please donate generously as it will all help to support our charities!
