Clubs & Groups Newsletter February 2023
How can Dorset youth support you.
You are all doing an incredible job and we want to help support you where we can. This is a reminder that there is NO affiliation fee to become a member of Dorset Youth, and we are uniforming the way we are trying to streamline information to you. This membership gives you access to bi-weekly newsletters from the 0-25 VCS forum where you can find out about latest funding opportunities, events and training as well as finding out about the 0-25 forum so you can join us at face to face or online meeting. This newsletter will also have specific information for clubs and groups. As a result there will no longer be a separate Clubs & Groups Newsletter as you can find all the information you need in our 0-25 VCS Forum Newsletters!
UK Youth Fund in partnership with Pears Foundation
This new fund, the Cost of living grant programme, is a three-year unrestricted grant programme aimed at mitigating the devastating impact the cost of living crisis is having on the youth sector. The UK Youth Fund in partnership with Pears Foundation will provide targeted funding to youth organisations delivering high quality youth work to ensure doors stay open, bills get paid and youth workers receive the salaries they deserve, so as to ensure young people continue to be supported at this most difficult of times by the youth organisations and youth workers on whom they’ve come to depend. The Cost of Living grant programme is open to youth organisations based and delivering high quality youth work in the UK, with an annual turnover of £500,000 or less.
The application website will open at 10am on Thursday 2nd February and will remain open whilst funds remain to be distributed.
Throughout the application window, we will be hosting weekly open webinars over zoom, where our grants team will talk through the application form, provide guidance on how to make a strong application and host a Q&A. to Book your place at a webinar click below
NCS Grant Giving- Community Experience
From 2023, NCS will be awarding grants to local organisations delivering community-based experiences at a grassroots level, for the first time.
Targeted Grants: These grants may be given for scaling your existing intervention, or trialing a new innovation, with targeted groups of young people. We will offer a variety of larger and smaller grants, creating opportunities for national or regional organisations, alongside small grassroots organisations.
The window for submitting applications will open at 11:00 on Monday 13 February 2023 and will close at 09:00 on Monday 20 March.
We will aim to share the outcome of the application process at the end of April. To find out more click the link below

It’s Children’s Mental health Awareness week!
We have partnered with Public Health Dorset on a RUOK? campaign to help children & young people become more aware of how they can access support. From our recent VoiceX service 60% of young people in Dorset know how to access mental health advice, so this campaign is here to help tackle this. This includes 24/7 crisis support, NHS services from @dorsethealthcare and support provided by local charities such as @dorsetmind and @dorset_mh_forum.

Do you know of an organisations or club that could support young people at youth clubs with Pool/Snooker? Lots of young people enjoy pool & snooker and we would love to know if there is an organisation out there that could provide some tuition at a youth club.
