The Alice Ellen Cooper-Dean Charitable Foundation offers grants to registered charities working for the benefit of communities in Dorset or West Hampshire.

Value Notes

The level of funding offered each year depends on the amount of income the Foundation receives from its investments. Last year the Foundation made grants totalling £930,000 to 148 charitable bodies as compared to £1.2 million the previous year to 185 groups.

Funding is at the discretion of the Trustees. Most grants tend to be in the range of £2,000 to £10,000 with a few higher and lower grants awarded.

Who Can Apply

Local and national charitable bodies registered with the Charity Commission or bodies with equivalent status may apply as long as their work benefits communities in Dorset and West Hampshire.

Restrictions

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Individuals
  • Non-charitable organisations.

Costs associated with eligible projects.

How To Apply

The Foundation does not maintain a website.

Applications must be made in writing by providing a summary of the proposed project alongside costings, financial accounts and details of fundraising activities. The Trustees may visit the project to see the work before a decision is made.

The Trustees usually meet four times a year to consider applications. Applications should be received at least 10 days before a Trustees' meeting in order to be considered for that meeting.
